What Are You Looking At?

They say the eyes are the windows to your soul.
Many ancient esoteric as well as modern day philosophies consider the eye as a channel or passageway into another dimension.
The eye of Ra is the symbol of protection and life. The Third Eye is referred to as the spiritual eye or the eye of the soul.
Ultimately, the symbolic meaning of the eye is what you make it.

Inside Out Portraits

Over the weekend, I watched Inside Out in back to back sittings while working on a new mixed media portrait. The little voices inside my head directed these digital fragmentations.

Ive always loved Alice in Wonderland and the Cheshire Cat in particular.

I made this mixed media tribute to the Cheshire Cat this past summer over the course of 2 months.

Be Bop

When a colleague told me I am “pretty stupid for a smart person,” this work was my response.

I can’t spell and sometimes words get lost in my mouth but that doesn’t mean I am stupid. My brain processes information visually and sonically, letters and numbers are interchangeable. I think different, that is my super power.
