Wonder Woman Selfie: Making of

I LOVE Wonder Woman. I grew up watching the Linda Carter’s Wonder Woman and wanted to be a bad ass too. After seeing Patty Jenkins’s Wonder Woman in Theaters, I knew I had to pattern my next Super Selfie after Wonder Woman

Made with mostly recycled materials including bottle caps, punched paper, magazine tears, tissue paper, recycled utility bill envelops, beads, glitter, Army men, rhinestones, metallic stars, shoe polish, acrylic mediums on cradled Birch board.

Meet Selfie Replicant

Selfie Replicant represents who I would be if I was a replicant in Ridley Scott’s 1982 cult classic, Blade Runner. Capturing the feel of the film it shows how my personality would emerge in the futuristic 2049 dystopia. Representing myself as one of the bioengineered androids found in the film I am revealing a hidden strength brought on by personal struggles within my own life. This selfie captures a side of me that is as potentially vindictive and powerful as it is dark and mysterious.

Powerful Super Selfie

I found a 48″x48″ red and blue drip paint canvas in the garbage over the holidays and painted over it with layers of gesso, acrylic paint, paper, tissue, glitter, rhinestones, plastic bottle caps and silk petals over the course of two months. 

She is black, blue and purple with a powerful smart mouth. She resists by persistently defying expectations.
