I found a 48″x48″ red and blue drip paint canvas in the garbage over the holidays and painted over it with layers of gesso, acrylic paint, paper, tissue, glitter, rhinestones, plastic bottle caps and silk petals over the course of two months.Â
She is black, blue and purple with a powerful smart mouth. She resists by persistently defying expectations.

What Are You Looking At?
They say the eyes are the windows to your soul.
Many ancient esoteric as well as modern day philosophies consider the eye as a channel or passageway into another dimension.
The eye of Ra is the symbol of protection and life. The Third Eye is referred to as the spiritual eye or the eye of the soul.
Ultimately, the symbolic meaning of the eye is what you make it.

When a colleague told me I am “pretty stupid for a smart person,” this work was my response.
I can’t spell and sometimes words get lost in my mouth but that doesn’t mean I am stupid. My brain processes information visually and sonically, letters and numbers are interchangeable. I think different, that is my super power.
