My work is not built for a casual glance. I want you to look twice, to take it in and truly see, the lines, translucency and shadows.

I am pleased to share, I’ve been invited to exhibit three works at Wonderland International Juried Exhibition. The show is an interpretive, experiential art show that will explore wonder, fascination and illusion, curated by juror Allison Glenn, the senior curator at New York’s Public Art Fund.
I plan to attend the Opening Reception in Poughkeepsie, please let me know if you want to roadtrip with me from Jersey City.

… biomorphic surrealism from Gregory Ojakpe
I still need to seal the paint on this neon pink cart.
I love how the color pops against my Bottle Cap Pearls…

The weaving on the left is a work in progress. The photo on the right is the view from my tree house in St. Croix.

One hundred feet of rope, impeccably wrapped, woven, tied and embellished with beaded garland, ribbon, and silk flower bobbles lure you into a hue-imbued, installation symbolizing natural hair. This bold whimsical sculpture gingerly invites the audience into off the-wall conversations about implicit bias and black women’s hair..

…the “lace of light” from Iris van Herpen. Her inspiration is drawn from the ongoing hybridization of nature and technology.
I just want to know how she builds structure seemingly out of thin air.
