Free Your Mind is a collection of personal narratives. You are invited to share an personal experience with implicit bias to release this story from your personal narrative.
Later, I will weave your stories into the installation as a computer generated voice recording. Motion sensors will trigger recordings when visitors interact with the installation.
My work Boa Quill was shortlisted as a finalist for the Public Voice Award. The winning piece will be purchased by the Biggs Museum of American Art and become a part of its permanent collection.
Voting will be open through April 29. The winner will be announced on April 30, 2022.

Visions & Voices highlights the works of African American Artists from the Mid-Atlantic region.
While twenty different artists were selected to show works, five artists were selected to have their pieces considered to be added to the The Biggs Museum of American Art’s permanent collection.
The winning piece will be decided entirely by public vote. The winning artist will lead an artist talk on May 18 from 5:30 – 6:30 PM.
