The construction over at Art House’s new home base on Marin Blvd is finally complete. The first official show to show off the finished digs opens this week.
I’ll be showing Chutes & Ladders, which is most fitting, because Andrea McKenna donated the net I used for this piece when Art House was moving out of their last location…
I can’t wait to experience all the art and see all my Jersey City Art folks at the Opening reception. Other participating artists include Tim Daly, Loura van der Meule, Lisa Ficarelli-Halpern, Troy Jones, Mark Kurdziel and Candy Le Sueur.
Congratulations Art House, welcome home!

This is for all the girls with beaded braids, that grew up cheering on the Williams sisters. Daring to see ourselves, reflected in Venus and Serena’s grace and unapologetic prowess both on the court and in the court of public opinion. The Williams sisters are black excellence, personified. And for this, I salute you
Venus & Serena @ Governors Island

I’m pleased to share that one of my new Hair Rope pieces will be included in this show of contemporary work incorporating textiles, fibers, threads and mixed media.
The show description really resonated with me… All of life is connected through networks, systems, fibers, and webs. Communication (visual, verbal, electrical, chemical, and kinetic) enables an exchange of information amongst all life forms. Tenuous Threads alludes to the delicate lines that bring us together and sets us apart; that joins us yet repels us.
The opening reception is Thursday January 26th, 5:30- 8:00pm. I hope to see you there.
I have quite a bit lined up for 2023 , including three solo shows, a return to Governors Island, Fiber Art’s Excellence in Fibers and the group show Dark Matter in LES. There is so much to look forward to in 2023.
Date: October 21-23, Friday & Weekends 10:00 am – 5 pm Location: Flux Factory on Governors Island, Colonels Row 404A
Flux Treasure Island is an island-wide scavenger hunt, taking place over Friday October 21 through Sunday October 23. Artworks will be hidden all across Governors Island in secret unexpected locations.
Cryptic clues on a treasure map will guide visitors to their destinations. Works will include site-specific sculpture, performance, video, AR, and more. They might respond to the local area and its history, or maybe they will play with viewer’s perceptions. Some pieces will only be visible at certain times, so everyone’s experience will be different.
Come to Flux HQ at 404a Colonels Row and pick up a treasure map. From there, the island is yours to explore. Come find my work on the map
