American Contemporary Craft: National Juried Exhibition

Location: LHUCA; 511 Ave K, Lubbock, Texas

Opening receptions: October 2 and November 26, 2020
during the First Friday Art Trail 6 – 9 pm

I answered a call for artists utilizing traditional and innovative craft techniques while maintaining contemporary relevance and broadening the interest of craft as a modern medium.

Neue was selected for the show and won Honorable Mention.

ViewPoints 2020 Zoom Reception

Please join me at for the ZOOM reception for ViewPoints 2020 on Friday, October 30 at 7:00pm ET,

The gallery is following strict COVID guidelines – masks are required and the number of people is limited. The gallery is open by appointment only until further notice.

There will be an online tour of the exhibit with audio from the artists for viewing alog with a Zoom Reception with juror, Virginia Fabbri Butera, PhD, who will talk about the exhibit and the work she chose. Awards will be presented.

The in-person reception will be Sunday, November 1 from 1-4pm. I’ll be there on the early side.

Studio Montclair is located 127 Bloomfield Ave. Montclair, NJ 07042

The exhibition run dates are October 30th – November 27th, 2020.

The 30th anniversary Jersey City Art & Studio Tour features nearly 70 virtual events, held entirely on Zoom from Oct 1st – Oct 4th. Audiences will be able to take a look inside the studios and galleries of the diverse artists that call Jersey City home.

CoVid19 Fall Out

It has taken me a moment to adjust to the new normal of being stuck in the apartment 24/7, worrying about my elderly parents, a non stop parade of 10-6p video ZOOM calls for work and figuring out how to get comfortable with not know when this will all end.

I thrive on making artwork in community and I can’t do that right now. Its been an adjustment being solo in the studio again. It is not the same for me

With all galleries and museums temporarily shuttered, several of my shows have either been postponed or are now virtual. And who knows when I will receive back art from arts institutions that are currently shutdown. My Now Friends Residency in Nairobi Kenya scheduled for July is now up in the air too. There is so much uncertainty right now.

ViewPoints 2020 @ Studio Montclair

You will have to wait to see Caribbean Friendship Bracelet in person at ViewPoints 2020. The exhibition has been pushed from May to October of this year.
