For the past three years, people have been asking me the same question:
“So… what have you been making in St. Croix?”
This November, I’ll finally have an answer.
I’m excited to share The Offering, a new solo exhibition opening November 19, 2026, at Cane Roots Art Gallery, Christiansted St. Croix for the start of St. Croix’s Art Thursday season. The exhibition will remain on view through January 8, 2027, giving visitors plenty of time to experience not only the work itself, but the conversations, walks, and community gatherings that will unfold around it.
The Offering is the most personal body of work I’ve created since moving to St. Croix. It grew from slowing down, walking the island, paying attention, and working with materials the landscape had already released. Fallen palm fronds. Weathered branches. Seed pods. Rope washed ashore. Objects marked by wind, salt, drought, and time became collaborators in ways I never expected. At the heart of the exhibition is a simple question:
What does the land offer, and what do I owe it in return?
If you’ve been thinking about visiting me on St. Croix, this is the time.
Come for the exhibition. Stay at Sky Garden Gallery. We’ll explore the island together, walk the trails, visit the beaches, and, if you’re here at the right time, you can join one of the Field Studies in Attention or one of the public conversations that are part of the exhibition. The show isn’t meant to be experienced in a single afternoon. It’s designed to unfold over time, just as the work itself has.
Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing the stories behind the pieces as they come together, the materials, the experiments, the failures, the discoveries, and the unexpected ways St. Croix continues to shape both my work and the way I see.
